My name is Suzanne Malcekan from Vanuatu in the South Pacific. I'm 21 years old. I have 3 siblings, 1 brother and 1 sister I'm the youngest in the family.  I was  happy that AIU has approved my offer letter to peruse my study in Malaysia . When i first came in AIU i was not happy  as we all know that is not easy to leave our families and parents back home and study in a different country . I cried a lot and always think about them. I have problem to communicate with my friends because back to my country i studied french and we learn English 4 hours in a week. It was not easy for me but i studied Intensive English Program for 6 months and also i managed to borrow books from the library that it helps me to improve my English and achieve goal. Moreover Albukhary International University is composed by different nationalities studying in different courses and also different Religion, Culture and Language. It was not easy for me to eat Malaysian food  and also the weather is to hot but two months later i started to adapt.
It' is a new page in my life to leave with different nationalities.

This blog will tell you many things about the Computer Internet.I will be explain in short words and easily to understand. Have a nice read ;)

WEEK 1

This week, we had ice breaking and also he gave us the works and rules to follow during the lecture and also we were go through out Hardware computer hardware Basics and computer main component and also i got to know the hardware is the physical part of computer that can be touch. I also discovered the 5 main operation that the computer can perform.

I also learnt about the number system. It was a surprise for me because i never knew that before. Because those number can be converted into others number such as Binary, Decimal, hexadecimal.

WEEK2

SESSION1
Through out this week, my lecturer taught us history of the computer.The history of computer development is often referred to in reference to the different generations of computing devices
 The first computers used vacuum tubes (1940-1956)

The second it was transistors (1956-1963

Third Generation it was integrated circuit (1964-1971

Fourth Generation was Microprocessor (1971

Fifth Generation was Artificial intelligence

SESSION 2
 I get to know and understand different part of a computer and also their  function.
Hardware is a tool for displaying and working with system hardware from both a logical and a packaging viewpoint, an aid for debugging Input/output (I/O) processors and devices, and is also used to reinitialize the Cryptographic Coprocessor

 WEEK 3

SESSION 1

This week we learnt about the role of computing software. We have discovered and learnt that:

• It takes several levels for a user to be able to communicate with a computer hardware, but of course we can't 'see' it.
• The software layers involved in the user-computer interaction.
• The components of a system software.

• Hardware depends on software.

 Session2

This session we learnt about the Programming  Languages: Machine, Assembly, and High level language.
By now we know what and why we need a programming language, and that this different language has different syntax and semantics, however there are various types and characteristics of PL especially the oject-oriented based languages, and it is possible for end-users to write 'programs' without being qualified programmer nowadays.

                                        

 SESSION 3

This session we learnt Standard Software Packages: Overview & typical installation procedures.
By the end of this session we came to understand the Application software for various types of end-users, Various software packages available off-the shelf and downloadable from the internet, the Guides and tips dealing with having application software for the computer, and we also learnt how to take care of the computer system and how to utilize the hard disk space when installing new software 

 

WEEK4.

This week, its a new page of my life to know basics concept of network because nowadays many  people use internet without know how is functioning. It is simply a group of interconnected computer. It has also 5 majors component such as Communication media, Interconnecting devices, Computer, Networking software and Application and also we have 3 important concept that network use to be functioning: Topology, Protocol, Architecture.

Network medium is essential for a computer communication take place. Medium maybe  physical cable, such has twisted pair, coaxial, or fiber-optic.

We have different type of Network such has LAN, WAN and MAN. Network in a small geographical is called LAN composed by intranet and extranet and network spread geographical is called WAN.

WEEK 5

My friends and i, learnt about history of windows operating system. Bill Gates announces Microsoft Windows November 10, 1983. It release a number of windows operating systems ranging from windows xx, NT, sever from 1985 till now. the version differ in the dept of networking, security and multimedia support.
Windows 7 environment is not an extension of XP, it's a entirely new interface. The easy way to find your stuff such as files and folder it is in  the Libraries. In the computer folders are in desktop, start menu and personal document folder.

WEEK 6

 We learn and understand how to introduced to word processing skills. Firstly we were taught about advanced Microsoft word and also we did some practice during the lecture after that our lecture taught us to work with styles and templates, customizing tables and coating charts to create mail merge document

                                                                            

WEEK 7

Welcome back this week i  learnt  Microsoft office and also i got to know tool bar in Microsoft office

I understand that Microsoft Excel is a spread sheet application developed by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications. After the explanation we did some practice. I understand that lecturer our using this Microsoft windows to enter our marks or notes and event those who are working as a banker or accountant.

WEEK 8

 This week lesson, My lecturer taught us how to play MS office Programs namely MS word, Ms EXCEL,  MS power point. I also discovered tools, especially the advanced tools in Ms office to enhance the quality of my works especially my assignment.Moreover i also learnt some simple tips for effective presentations and that will help me to create slides using a variety of slide layout designs.

WEEK 9

At the end of this week I learnt and discovered the history of the especially from ARPANET, I also learnt some basic application uses of internet.

I have also understood and learnt that the technologies lie behind accessing the internet, and i appreciate the internet connection.
I was able to learn a little bit about the 'Language' of the internet and relate it to other form of communication systems. Really interesting!

WEEK 10

We did work group. Each group contained 3 to 4 members. This group work consist of doing some exercises started from  week 1 until week 12 it was a recapitulation of Introduction to Computer Internet. I was really enjoy this group work because I get to refresh my mind because I already forget some information
